At the age of 77, Dolly Parton continues to enchant millions with her timeless charm. This was evident on Thanksgiving when she graced the halftime stage at AT&T Stadium in Arlington during the Dallas Cowboys’ clash with the Washington Commanders.
Dressed in a modified Cowboys cheerleader outfit, Parton kicked off her performance with the iconic “Jolene.” The legendary singer also treated the audience to a rendition of “9 to 5” and paid homage to the Texas Rangers, who secured the World Series victory in November, by delivering a captivating rendition of Queen’s “We Are the Champions.”
Notably, CBS commentator and former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was visibly delighted by Parton’s performance. His enthusiasm was so contagious that Jim Nantz had to redirect the conversation back to the game.
The NFL curated a diverse lineup for the Thanksgiving halftime shows in 2023. Jack Harlow took the stage during the Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions game, but his performance didn’t resonate as strongly with the audience as Parton’s did.

In the Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers matchup, DJ Steve Aoki faced the formidable task of following Parton’s act during halftime. Parton’s spellbinding performance undoubtedly set a high standard for the day’s entertainment.
